BASICS-Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention of College Students
BASICS is an evidence -based prevention intervention for ages who drink alcohol heavily and/or have experienced or are at risk for alcohol related problems. A Harm Reduction Approach, BASICS aims to motivate young adults to reduce alcohol use in order to decrease negative consequences of drinking and live a healthier and safer lifestyle. Teen Intervene is provided in partnership with the Long Island Prevention Resource Center. Teen Intervene is an evidenced based prevention intervention for school personnel and Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment providers. It is designed as a comprehensive screening, brief intervention and referral to treatment model of care for teens who have experienced mild to moderate problems associated with alcohol or drug use.
