What We Do
At YES Community Counseling Center, we're often asked "What exactly does your agency do?" This has a complicated answer because our desire to meet community needs has expanded our scope of services to include a wide variety of programs, some of which are year-round while others are seasonal or based on need and request.
Our dedicated staff of Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Substance Abuse Counselors, and Medical Professionals provides a multitude of services. Please click one of the following for more details:
General Counseling: Individual, couples, family, and group counseling to children, adolescents, and adults.
Drug/Alcohol Treatment: Comprehensive treatment available to children, adults, and families facing the complex problems of chemical dependency, as well as DWI assessments and specialized recovery groups.
School-Based Social Work Services: Individual & Group Counseling as well as Preventive and Awareness Programs are provided to students in Massapequa, Plainedge, and Farmingdale school districts.
Prevention & Outreach: Innovative and evidence-based programs, trainings, alternative leisure time, community partnerships, special projects, crisis intervention, and much more.
Parenting Programs: Special training programs and group courses to enhance parenting skills and deal with issues of divorce, grandparent guardianship, etc.
At-Risk Youth Program (PPIP): The Pre/Post Institutionalization Project targets adolescents age 12-21 who may be court involved, on probation or at risk for probation status, returning from residential care, at risk of placement, or in need of special assistance such as housing, medical or case management, legal advocacy, etc.
Domestic Violence/Abuse Program (WISH): Women In Shared Healing, provides comprehensive services for community members who have been physically, sexually, and/or emotionally abused as well as those effected by or witness to domestic violence.
Commerce Plaza: A unique business simulation program, introducing 5th and 6th graders to the real world of work through hands-on economic activity. Although located at the Levittown site only, the program is available to all Long Island School Districts.
Family Support Programs: A variety of programs designed to support families in need such as a winter food pantry, leisure time and socialization, "Adopt-a-Family" holiday baskets, back-to-school supplies, etc.
